Stanage Edge Shooting Hike

Stanage Edge Detail Square

The Wild and Woolly Walker and I love walking over the Christmas period! We were keen to try something new on our latest expedition too. Having hiked around the Longshaw Estate and surrounding areas quite extensively, there was one area we hadn’t ventured onto for some time, Stanage Edge.

With camera in hand, here are some of the images I captured whilst on our shooting hike along and around Stanage Edge!

Stanage Edge Autumn

I love the colours at this time of year; the last elements of Autumn are still with us before the winter’s frost and snow come.

The last few times we have been over to the Peak District, we have unfortunately had some very foggy days. Thankfully the mist today wasn’t too heavy in the morning for us.

As we hiked back up onto the top of Stanage Edge through Stanage Plantation, we came to some wonderful boulders.

They had such great detail in the weathering of the stone, captured with the three images below.

Once we got back onto the top of Stanage Edge, the mist had rolled in quite heavily causing a ‘Pea Souper’! I managed to just capture this image before we headed back to the car!

The following images will be added to my Peak District Print Collection in the new year. If you enjoy my Landscape Photography, why not take a look at my Peak District Prints all available as high quality photographic prints for you to enjoy in your own home.
