Padley Gorge Winter Shoot

Padley Gorge

I wasn’t too familiar with Padley Gorge, having only walked through its woods and along the brook once before down to Grindleford. Therefore I was keen to explore this beautiful area of the Peak District and to see what photographic opportunities it presented.

As I walked past the fence and bridge near the Longshaw Estate I started to enter into the woodland. It was a beautiful winters day with the sun low in the sky. As I made my way down to the stream I spotted this lone tree within the brook. I love the way it looked, captured below in both a Landscape and Portrait orientation.

As I made my way back up to the Longshaw Estate the sun really came through the worn canopy of the woodland and lit up the beautiful bronze autumnal leaves on the smaller trees around the brook. Doing my best not to fall in I managed to capture this image of the brook, framed with two of the bronze trees leading you into the image with the lone tree at the end.

All the images in this blog are available as high quality photographic prints, along with a range of bespoke frames, for you to enjoy in your home. Why not take a look at my full Peak District Print Collection.
