Jacob’s Ladder Shoot

Jacob's Ladder Sunset Portrait

I love the Pennine Way and Jacob’s Ladder up onto Kinder Scout. As a hiker, Kinder Scout is the creme dela creme of hiking in the Peak District. It is the Peak District’s highest hill and is rather vast, with lots of impressive views and geological sites including Woolpacks, Kinder Downfall and Noe Stool. Jacob’s ladder, on the Pennine Way, is a very popular route up onto Kinder. While still a rather good hike up it is a very easy stony staircase to navigate, in contrast to the scramble up Grindsbrook Clough!

I was keen to capture the view from Jacbo’s Ladder during sunset. While an unusual location to pick for sunset, as the sun is behind you rather than in front, I was keen to see what images I could produce at this popular, and fabulous, part of the Peak District.

The images above are available to purchase as high quality prints to enjoy in your own home, from my Peak District Print Collection.
